⚓ What are Succhiarole?

The suckers (or suckers) are roller line guides , installed at the bow, stern or along the bulwarks, which allow the mooring lines to pass without friction against the hull.

⚙️ Types of Roller Fairleads

1. Straight reel suckers Single horizontal roller -> Use on simple bollards or rope guides
2. AV or angular Two rollers (horizontal + vertical) -> For changes in direction of the ropes
3. With closed cage Internal rollers protected by metal structure -> High safety, prevents accidental disengagement
4. From the bulwark or deck Installed on the gunwale or deck -> They guide the lines laterally
5. Anchor suckers Guide the rope or chain in the anchor winch area -> Often integrated with bow rollers

• Rollers : reinforced plastic, Delrin, Teflon, or bronze.
• Body : AISI 316 stainless steel , to resist salt water.
• Fixing : with through screws or bolts on the gunwale, pulpit, platform.

2. Friction reduction , also useful for manual or electric winches.
3. They keep the tops in a neat and safe position .
4. Essential for lateral moorings or through anchor lines.

🔧 Installation advice

• Mount them where the top has the greatest curvature or friction .
• Secure with counterplate or large washers to distribute the load.
• Check that the roller turns freely even under stress.
