The Victron MultiPlus 24/2000/50-32 combines a 2000 VA pure sine wave inverter and a 50 A charger with adaptable charging technology, also compatible with lithium batteries, in a single device. The DC input voltage is between 19 and 33 V, the AC mains voltage between 187 and 265 V; the inverter output is 230 V AC. The enclosure is made of aluminum.
There are two AC outputs: the first is active in both inverter mode and when an external AC source is present; the second is available only when an AC source is present, and is the one to connect loads that could discharge the battery, such as a boiler. When the mains or generator fail, the MultiPlus switches to inverter mode without power interruption. The charger operates with a four-stage bulk-absorption-float-storage algorithm, with a charging voltage of 28.8 V.
The Power Control function limits the power drawn from the AC source, leaving the charger with only the remaining energy compared to the limit set via the MultiControl panel. The Power Assist function compensates for power peaks by drawing from the battery when the AC source is insufficient, and recharges the batteries as soon as the load is reduced. The device can be connected in parallel with up to six units, or three units of the same type can form a three-phase system; up to six series of three units in parallel are allowed. The communication bus is VE.Bus. The integrated protections cover short circuit, overload, battery too low or too high, and high inverter frequency.
