The Osculati Grade 70 12 mm x 150 m stud link chain is hot-dip galvanized and manufactured in accordance with ISO standards for marine anchoring. Grade 70 provides greater mechanical strength than standard chain: with the same cross-section, it offers significantly higher load capacity, or allows for a smaller cross-section for the same required strength, with a weight saving stated by the manufacturer of between 40 and 60%. The manufacturer states that 10 mm Grade 70 chain replaces standard 12 mm chain. Each metre is marked with the OSC-G7 stamp pressed into the metal.
The link geometry follows the dimensions required for use with stud chain winches: pitch P 36 mm, internal width B 40 mm. The stated working load is 3,200 kg, with a breaking load of 12,800 kg, for a safety factor of 4:1. The linear weight is 3.300 kg/m.
