Ultraflex Hydraulic Steering

Ultraflex hydraulic steering is a boat steering system that uses a hydraulic system to facilitate control of the rudder or outboard motor. It is particularly suitable for boats with medium to high-powered engines, where mechanical steering might be too heavy or imprecise.

Main features:

• Precision and fluidity in controlling the rudder or engine.
• Reduction of effort compared to mechanical systems.
• Reliability and safety , thanks to robust and durable components.
• Reduced maintenance compared to cable steering systems.

Main components:

1. Hydraulic Pump (Helm Pump) – It is connected to the steering wheel and pushes the hydraulic oil into the pipes.
2. Hydraulic Cylinder – Mounted on the engine or rudder, it receives oil pressure and transforms it into mechanical movement.
3. Hydraulic Hoses – Connect the pump to the cylinder and allow the hydraulic fluid to circulate.
4. Hydraulic oil – Specifically formulated for marine steering systems, it ensures proper lubrication and operation.

Most common models:

Ultraflex offers different models of hydraulic steering systems, depending on the engine power:

• UP Series (for hydraulic pump)
• UC Series (for hydraulic cylinder)
• Complete kits (e.g. Ultraflex Hyco , Ultraflex SilverSteer , Ultraflex MasterDrive for more advanced applications)

Advantages over mechanical steering systems:

✅ Greater comfort and less effort in steering the boat.
✅ Longer lasting.
✅ Improved response and control, ideal for high speeds and rough sea conditions.
