The AL-KO AK 161 Trailer Coupling is a type of ball head used to connect the trailer drawbar/rod to the car's towbar, particularly for braked trailers with medium to light capacities.
Designed for braked trailers up to 1600 kg, it has a supported load of approximately 120 kg.
It is compatible with 50 mm diameter rudders but has adapters for other sizes (35-40-45 mm).
MAIN FEATURES:
- It has a “green” safety indicator that indicates whether the coupling is correctly attached to the tow hook.
- It comes with Soft-Dock by default, a protective element to prevent the ball or vehicle from being damaged by scratches or unwanted contacts
- It has spacers / adapters available for rudders / tubes of different diameters (e.g. Ø 35, 40, 45 mm) to make the joint compatible with various rudders.
- The AK 161 coupling has a “trailer” load capacity of up to 1,600 kg and a support load (vertical force on the ball) of approximately 120 kg (typical values)
- The horizontal fixing holes of the joint (for connection to the rudder support) have a distance between centers of ~ 47-54 mm in the AK 161 models with Soft-Dock (round-round version)
