SENTINEL ONE STAR. The new bilge switch that solves the age-old problem of water in the bilge. SENTINEL's operation is extremely simple: when powered, it goes into standby mode. When the water level reaches the sensors and wets them simultaneously for at least 30 seconds, SENTINEL activates the pump, which automatically deactivates after 15 seconds when one of the two sensors is no longer water-filled. The two sensors in contact with the water are completely isolated, thus avoiding any oxidation process or galvanic currents. The switch's aluminum body is also electrically insulated. It has no particular positioning problems: its circular shape, secured by a single central screw, allows the instrument to be oriented towards the direction of the cables (or in any case the direction that makes installation easier), thanks also to its three rear spacers. On the front of the switch are three connection points represented by internally threaded brass bushings + (positive pole), – (negative pole) and P (positive pole of the pump). The sensors consist of two AISI 316 stainless steel plates. This simple design allows the sensors to be adapted to any type of installation. They can be secured with plastic cable ties or by drilling a hole in them, screwed in place, or glued with silicone. The following restrictions must be considered: the distance between the sensors must not exceed 30 cm, and the length of the cables from the switch to the sensors must not exceed 15 m. The switch does not activate the pump if there are leaks of fuel and oil only.
