Tecmate Optimate Solar battery charger

A monocrystalline cell made from a single silicon wafer is most efficient at collecting energy when it receives sunlight at a specific angle. For this reason, monocrystalline solar technology is generally preferred for large, high-power fixed installations where solar tracking technology can be used.

A polycrystalline cell is made of multiple wafers of silicon crystals fused together. This combination of crystals in a single panel more efficiently collects energy from scattered (partially shaded) or angled sunlight, allowing for a more consistent power supply in variable sunlight conditions.

OptiMate Solar portable chargers combine the natural advantages of polycrystalline technology with intelligent solar charge control, making battery charging safe and easy. Point the panel in the general direction of the sun and your battery will receive the most optimal charge, without the need for any additional intervention!

OptiMate solar panels feature solid aluminum frames with 4 sturdy corner brackets that complete the panel construction. Each corner bracket has multiple mounting holes that can be used to secure the panel to a suitable surface, or the holes can be used to install OptiMate suction cup mounts or an OptiMate adjustable mount.

OptiMate suction cup mounts fit the mounting holes of OptiMate corner brackets and are easily reversible. A small pull tab on each suction cup makes it easy to remove from the surface it's attached to. Suction cup mounts are included in the 10W and 20W travel kits. They are also available separately.

The OptiMate charge controller is a fully sealed solar charger with a multi-stage program that saves, charges, and maintains the battery. The LED display provides information on charging progress.

A solar panel provides energy when it absorbs sunlight. A charge controller is needed to regulate the voltage so that the battery receives the correct charging voltage. The OptiMate charge controller automatically offers a SAFE 24/7 charging experience; it cannot deliver power until it is properly connected to the battery. Once connected and charged, no further supervision is required.

The OptiMate charge controller continues to display the battery's state of charge "at night" or when solar power is not available. The display switches from charging state to monitoring mode, during which the LEDs flash every 3 seconds. When solar power is received, it switches from monitoring mode to charging mode.

The OptiMate charge controller adapts to the available power the solar panel can provide and adjusts it to charge the battery efficiently. The controller automatically switches its charging process between continuous charging in full sunlight and pulse charging in low light. This dual charging method ensures that the battery receives high-current pulses of energy even in low light conditions.
